The greatest cycling champions have taken part in this event in the South-Manche, contributing to its success. From Bernard Thévenet, the first winner, through Hinault, Bernaudeau, Madiot, Fignon, Chavanel, Gilbert, Delaplace and right up to Oliver Naesen, they have all contributed to the fame of the South-Manche cycle race.
The ‘start’ of the race will take place between the Carnot and Patton squares in Avranches, offering viewers a closer look at the racers, before witnessing the real start of the final circuit in Saint-Martin-de-Landelles.
Professional French teams, as well as a selection of foreign teams, will need to quality over eleven laps of the circuit around Saint-Martin-de-Landelles. They will try to beat Benoît Cosnefroy, a native of the Manche and winner of the last Polynormande.
Various activities will be held on this day. There will be the chance to enjoy the Polycadet, a race for the little ones, to visit the Polynormande village, where a catering service will be available, or to meet the race partners, while children can enjoy themselves on the playground.
The evening will open with a concert and will conclude, as in past editions, with the much-anticipated fireworks display at nightfall.
